CD Bunny Face

Age 2+

1 old CD
Cotton balls
Cardboard
Wiggle eyes / Black pompoms
Pink pompom or pink felt scrap
Black yarn
Glue

1- Cut out cardboard in the shape of ears and glue on top of CD. Glue on cotton balls to cover entire CD. For eyes add black pompoms or wiggle eyes and pink pompom for nose. Cut small pieces of black yarn for whiskers. Enjoy your Easter bunny!


Passover Afikomen Holder

Age 4+

9 x 12 felt rectangle, any colour
Ribbon
Glitter
Fabric paint
Plastic Gems
Glue

1- Fold felt rectangle in thirds. Glue bottom sides together leaving top flap open like an envelope. Decorate with fabric paint, gems and ribbon. Add glitter if desired. Let dry completely before using to hide the afikomen matzah. Happy Passover!


Easy and awesome Play Dough (Uncooked)

Age 18months+

1 cup cold water
¾ cup salt
2 tsp. vegetable oil
Food colouring
2-3 cups flour
2 tbsp. corn starch

1- Mix together water, salt, oil and 3-4 drops of food colouring in a large bowl

2- Gradually work in flour and corn starch to consistency of bread dough

3- Kids can help measure ingredients and knead the dough

*Tip: Make several batches with different colours for added fun. Offer kids plastic cookie cutters, mini rolling pins and assorted safe kitchen tools for making imprints and they’ll be engrossed for hours!


Recycle your imagination

Age 4+

Empty cardboard rolls
Aluminum foil
Tissue boxes
Egg cartons
Yogurt containers
Styrofoam cups
Old wrapping paper or tissue
Magazine cutouts>Buttons
Yarn
Chenille Stems
Cotton Balls
Markers
Glue

1- Make sure all items are clean and dry before starting

2- Assemble your recyclables and watch as your child’s imagination takes flight!

Will they make a treasure box, dolly bed, an alien, or a snazzy race car? They will be proud to show off their original creation!


Canvas Handprint Heart

Age 2+

8" x 10" Canvas or cardboard
Red and pink acrylic paint
Small sponge or paintbrush
White paper
Glitter
Black sharpie

Cut out a 4” or 5” heart shape from the white paper and tape it in the center of the canvas.

Have your child sponge paint all around the canvas overlapping on top the paper  heart. Sprinkle glitter onto paint.

Peel off the paper heart to reveal clean white heart-shaped area (kids love this part!).

Sponge paint their palm and fingers and press gently in the center of the heart  with fingers slightly spread. A beautiful handprint should appear. Let dry.

Use black or coloured sharpie to write message / child’s name and age around the handprint.


Personal Pencil Holder

Age 5+

Small coffee can
Photos of child
Valentine Stickers
Scrapbooking phrases or words
White glue
Paint brush
Mod Podge

Wash and dry coffee can and remove label.

Cut out photos of child and use paintbrush to glue them around the can.

Glue on stickers and phrases – overlapping is okay. (It’s easier for little hands to apply glue to the can first and then stick the photos on.)

Tip:  You can type your own personal messages on the computer and print them out.

Make sure all the corners are glued down firmly. After can is completely decorated, apply a layer of mod podge, or glue (with a little water added) on top of all the photos.

Let dry.


Hannukah Pasta Menorah

Age 4+

Cardboard 9 x 12
Black marker
Pasta Shapes (penne, wheels, shells, etc.)
Paint (if desired)
Glue
Dried Beans, (kidney, navy, etc.)

Outline a menorah shape with black marker (an 8 stemmed candlelabra with one taller stem in center). Paint pasta shapes and let dry. If not painting, glue pasta shapes and beans all along outline of menorah. Let dry.


Painted Snowman

Age 2+

Black Cardboard 9 x 12
White Cardboard 9 x 12
Scissors
White Paint
Small sponge
Wiggly Eyes
2 popsicle sticks
3 pompoms
Fabric for hat and scarf
Orange felt scrap
Cotton balls
Glitter

This craft is really fun and easy for little ones.
Cut out two large circles one above the other on the white cardboard. Tape it to black cardboard. Sponge white paint into the black circles. Remove white cardboard to reveal the white snowman shape on black background. (Kids love this part!)
Decorate with wiggle eyes, pompoms for buttons, sticks for arms, orange scrap for nose. Cut out a hat and scarf from fabric and glue on your snowman so he doesn’t get too cold. Add cotton balls around the snowman for snow and add drops of glue onto the background with glitter sprinkled into them for sparkly snowflakes.


Colourful Tree Collage

Age 2+

Cardboard
Black marker
Scissors
Christmas wrapping paper
Glue
Pompoms
Pipe cleaners/ chenille stems

Outline tree shape on cardboard and cut out. Kids can cut or tear pieces of wrapping paper and glue them onto the tree overlapping each piece.  Add pompoms for ornaments and pipe cleaners for tinsel.
